Knaresborough-based Sian Nowley
has an MA from Gray’s School of Art,
Aberdeen. She takes commissions for
drawings of children, adults, pets and
other animals, either individually or as a
group. She works in pencil, charcoal and
Conté crayon.
“To me, there is a world of difference
between a picture and a portrait. When
drawing from a photograph you can
bring out the features and personality and
eliminate the noise of the surrounding
image. It is extremely important to me
that I capture the likeness and essence
of the character of the subject.”
